Idan-ha Theatre
History
1924
The Idan-Ha Theatre was build by Jack Lauritson (a sheep herder). It was named after the soda water which was famous at the time. At the time it could hold 355 people. Vaudeville and Bingo were it's Main attraction. It was equiped with an orchestra pit and dressing rooms. It had a box office on the street with an awning.
1940's
The theatre was leased by Mel Norris and he brought his wife's sister and her husband Olive and Arthur Kelly in to manage itWith the invention of television, the attendance was nearly wiped out.
1970's
The thearte was condemned and closed. In 1974 Owen Nelson and parterns bought the building from Viola Lauritson (Jack Lauritson's Widow) for $10,000.00 and remodeled it. The front of the building was only changed a little, they did away from with the box office on the side walk and the awning. The inside was completely stripped down to it's for bare walls.
Present
Presently Jeff and Shauna Bowen own and operate the theatre along with the drive-in theatre.
